Does the Path Look Royal Anymore?

Where they roll their
weapons out
to show the world
the pride of the nation,
Thousands fight now
for their rights.
Thousands pray for
a life.
Thousands try to
redeem their pride.
A nation watches.
Ready to spill blood
if need be.
Shrill voices demand
justice
for the future generations.
Voices gone hoarse
from the depth
of their power.
Voices that can change
the world…
  voices that changed the
world, before.
Where is Justice?
Does the Path look
Royal anymore?

Thousands protest in front of the Rashtrapathi Bhavan  in New Delhi against the gang rape happened in the capital five days ago. The victim was brutally raped and thrown out from a bus. The government is ignoring the protest so far and so is the Opposition. Young people have come out in protest and their numbers are alarmingly growing. Rajpath, the Royal Path, looks remarkably like Tahrir Sqaure in Egypt before the protestors ousted the Mubarik government. ‘Let’s do an Egypt!!!’ won’t be a very good slogan now because of the present condition of Egypt after the protests. But we need a change.

  2. And i like this revolutionised path much more than the royal one! I’ve never seen such a huge mass fighting for justice in India, it used to be all about politics, the aam aadmi has awaken, but i don’t know for how long!

  3. Beautiful powerful words there…….no the path isn’t royal anymore today the police and parliament have shown how insensitive and brutal they really are…..how coward they are …
